Dr. Chuan Xu is a Principal Investigator and PhD advisor at the Bio-X Institutes, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His lab focuses on the evolutionary patterns of gene product variations (i.e., RNA and protein isoforms), and their roles and mechanisms in environmental adaptation of pathogenic fungi and human diseases. Related research has been published in journals such as Cell Systems, PLoS Biology, Molecular Biology and Evolution, Cell Reports, Nature Reviews Genetics, PNAS, PLoS Pathogens, and Nature Communications. Due to research needs, the lab plans to recruit 1-2 international students each year for Master's or PhD programs.

1.A Bachelor's degree is required for Master's applicants; a Master's degree is required for PhD applicants.
2.Proficiency in either Chinese or English.
3.Academic background in one or more of the following fields: statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, computer science, biology, medicine, agricultural sciences, microbiology, bioengineering, biotechnology, bioinformatics, software engineering, or other related disciplines.
